3 node Ambari server setup

3 node Ambari server setup

Mentor

Hi community,

I am playing around with the Ambari single node,4 node and 3 node installation by adding a new node etc. Hadoop01 is the Ambari server,during my first 4 node cluster install practice I included it hadoop01.FQDN among the hosts to confirm and it was successfully discovered.See attached 4 node -install.

I then reinstalled all the 4 hosts because initially I hadn't allocated space in /usr, /etc /var I realised HDP put loads of files in the former directories ,coming from a Oracle DBA background I wanted too install the hadoop file in /u01/hadoop/hdp/* :-)

On my second 3 node install ,my intention was to install 3 nodes and practice adding the 4 node to the cluster later on but I am surprised I can't successfully discover the Ambari server see the attached 3 node install,

What could be the problem ? Here is the eror log

@Geoffrey Shelton Okot

You have 2 options here

1) setup the password less connectivity between ambari server and 3rd node

Very good doc

or

2) manually install ambari agent - doc

One more thing...ssh localhost in you ambari server

cd ~/.ssh

cat id_rsa.pub >> authorized_keys

ssh hadoop1

@Neeraj Sabharwal I already did that I copied the generated id-rsa to other hosts from the Ambarai server hadoop01.amuru.com Thats why I am surprised that this time I am getting this error.

[root@hadoop01 ~]# ssh-keygen

[root@hadoop01 .ssh]# cat .ssh/id_rsa.pub | ssh root@ hadoop02 'cat >> .ssh/authorized_keys'

[root@hadoop01 .ssh]# cat .ssh/id_rsa.pub | ssh root@ hadoop03 'cat >> .ssh/authorized_keys'

[root@hadoop01 .ssh]# cat .ssh/id_rsa.pub | ssh root@ hadoop04 'cat >> .ssh/authorized_keys'

testing the passwordless setup

[root@hadoop01 ~]# ssh root@hadoop02

Last login: Fri Jan 21 11:16:56 2016 from hadoop01.amuru.com

[root@hadoop02 ~]# exit

As you can see all looks okay!

@Geoffrey Shelton Okot

did you check permissions on authorized-keys file and .ssh dir? Link

@Geoffrey Shelton Okot has this been resolved? Can you provide a solution or accept the best answer?
