Ambari Alert notification configuration not saving

Ambari Alert notification configuration not saving

New Contributor

We were able register our sandbox with SMTP server and configured Ambari notifications to send emails to operations team successfully. However, when we tried to do same in our Dev environment which is also registered with same SMTP server, we were unable to setup Ambari notifications. When we tried to save the notification configuration, Ambari console is not responding and the notification configuration is not saving. We tried sending test emails from command line in Ambari Dev server and was able to successfully send emails. This confirms problem is not with connectivity and SMTP registration.

Only difference between Sandbox and Dev environments is that Dev is integrated with LDAP. Are there any known issues with notification configuration? We are using Ambari 2.2.

We did some research on Ambari page loading issues and found a post on how to review the browser java console logs and gather the stack trace of the error or warnings. I captured the stack trace from browser and saw 3 warnings related to deprecated methods.

Are you still having issues? I suggest opening a support case.

Hello,

1) What is the version of Ambari you are running? Either from Ambari Web > username > About dialog OR via command line "ambari-server --version"?

2) And this is the same Version in your sandbox and in Dev?

3) What browser and version are you using?

Thanks,

Jeff
