Ambari web page "This site can't be reached"

New Contributor

Hey Folks,

I've downloaded the Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP®) 2.6.1 on Hortonworks Sandbox and Im running it through Virtual Box as suggested.

The VM loads/boots up fine (Centos Linux (0-rescue 6f5d5e9d826b4471ad0e1f7a92e697dd) 7 (Core)).

The problem is that I can't get my putty or the Ambari web page to connect to my VM.

I've read the forums and it is suggested that I change the Network settings to Bridged Adapter from NAT.

Problem is the OK button is greyed out in the settings dialogue box and I can't make the change.

I've checked the rest of the VMs I have and none of them have this problem.

Any suggestions or leads will be highly appreciated!

@Talha Beg

You need to poweroff VM and then change the Network adapter settings.

Once done please check if you are able to connect using NAT settings/IP.

Share screenshot if its still not working
