Any documentation on the pre-built VM?

I am using cloudera's pre-built VM.  I can't find any documentation on it.  I was using the CDH 4.5 installation manual in the past, but I keep discovering things that are different between that and the pre-built VM.

I need to know how the pre-built VM is already configured.  I need to know what things have already been installed, and what has not been installed.  I need to know how to start and stop processes on the pre-built VM, it's not the same as if I had installed the software myself from the CDH RPMs.

Is there any documentation on it anywhere?

Here is information on what is installed:

The Quickstart VM uses Cloudera Manager to stop/start and configure services. You can look here for information on using Cloudera Manager to manage the services on the VM:

Re: Any documentation on the pre-built VM?

Thanks a lot!

I have been struggling to figure out how to make all of this work for a long time now.  I never tried using cloudera manager before, I thought it was just used for deploying and installing stuff, I didn't realize it's used to start/stop services.  I have been struggling to figure out how to use hbase for quite a while now, I didn't realize it was as simple as telling cloudera manager to start it.

Finding the right documentation on cloudera's website is a bit challenging.

I'd suggest creating a bookmark to here:
http://www.cloudera.com/content/support/en/documentation.html

You'll end up going there a lot (I know I do), and you can do searches in the documentation, and select the tasks/products you would like to know more about. :-)
