Authorization for hive via SQLStdAuth

  • if I choose security as SQLStdAuth from ranger ? would i be able to check the audit for the same , which user has executed the query or access description ?
  • is there some way if i do not change hive.server2.enable.do to false and I could restrict the access to the user on the data (hdfs file ) , if i set hive.server2.enable.do as to true and if user has not permission on the hdfs directory when user will execute the query it will get permission issue . i do not want to give permission to the user on hdfs since granting permission to the files means if from ranger (HIVE ) I restrict access to the user to table at column level but still since there is permission to the user in the hdfs files , data underlying to the table would be accessible .

Thanks
