Azure HDInsight HBase Phoenix Query Server details

New Contributor

Hi, How do we make a request to HDInsight HBase Phoenix Query Server, There are libraries written in Java (Phoenix thin client) and .Net (https://github.com/Azure/hdinsight-phoenix-sharp). But this requires some kind of connection string. I couldn't find the connection string. Please guide me on this.

@Sasikumar Natarajan

The JDBC connection string is composed as follows:

jdbc:phoenix:thin:url=<scheme>://<server-hostname>:<port>[...]

For more details you can refer:

Hi @Rajeshbabu Chintaguntla, Thanks for your quick response. You have mentioned, the common pattern in which connection string has to be built for thin driver. But what I want is, What should be the hostname and port number if I'm using, Azure HDInsight HBase. Azure HDInsight HBase runs Phoenix Query Servers on Region nodes and not on the master. So I'm not sure what should be given as host and port. Azure documentation explains that, HBase REST API can be accessed on this url pattern (https://ClusterName.azurehdinsight.net/hbaserest/), But they didn't mention the url for accessing Phoenix query server through thin client.
