Platform: Azure Hortonworks Standard 2.5

Screen shots for Configuration of ODBC driver from windows 10 to the platform. Exact steps for a user to configure the connection for use with Tableau, Qlik or Microsoft BI

Examples steps:

  1. What is port number to use?
  2. IP address to use?
  3. Need to open the port in Azure?
  4. Ambari settings to change in Hive

Best would be to provide a clear practical example?

I was able to connect. The instructions miss a point

You need to ssh into your node on cluster and start $ hiveserver2

before you can connect using the ODBC driver from any BI tool such as Tableau, Microsoft Desktop BI
