CDH 4.3.1 installation via cloudera manager: host not selectable

CDH 4.3.1 installation via cloudera manager: host not selectable

New Contributor

Hello,

I want to install CDH 4.3.1 on an Ubuntu system (12.04) via cloudera manager (4.7.2).

The hostnames are OK, cloudera manager finds the host.

But I cannot select the host (it's under "new hosts").

Before this I wanted to install CDH, the host was selectable, installed Impala and SOLR, but CDH-Installation did not proceed....

Any idea, what happened and what to do to install CDH?

Thank you very much!

Best regards,

 Christian.

Christian,

If you have already installed SOLR and Impala, it is likely that CDH was already installed on the nodes too.  I do not think you can install them without CDH.  In the case of a partial install, which I've gotten myself into before, I was able to go back and install the rest of the CDH services to my nodes by searching for the hostnames as you have done, then at the top of the chart that shows the host names, there should be a tab for "Already Managed" hosts, or something like that.  If you select that tab, it should allow you to select the hosts and proceed with your CDH install.
