CDH in CentOS 6.1 - Known issues ?

CDH in CentOS 6.1 - Known issues ?

New Contributor

Hi,

I have a old cluster with CentOS 6.1 (64 Bit). Can I install latest version of CDH (CDH 5.0.1) in it ? Will it support future upgrades in the coming years ?

Thank you.

Regards,

Venkat

Please have a look at the release notes of the version of CM and CDH
that you want to install or upgrade to. Red Hat / CentOS 6.1 is not a
supported platform as of now for any 5.x Cloudera Manager or CDH

I had bad luck with 6.1 so I updated my cluster systems to CentOS 6.6/RedHat 6.6 or Scientific Linux 6.6 and they all worked without issues.

I would upgrade your OS or version manipulation.
