CDH5.1 Accumulo build vs. CDH5.2 current distro

CDH5.1 Accumulo build vs. CDH5.2 current distro

New Contributor

Just curious what the support/build/deployment intent/timeline is for Accumulo?   I think the hadoop version moved from 2.3 to 2.5 in CDH5.1 -> 5.2, so a not insignificant change, but no new Accumulo-c5 parcels.  I'm running it right now, but slightly leery of depending on binary compatability "intents" (ref: http://hadoop.apache.org/docs/current/hadoop-project-dist/hadoop-common/Compatibility.html#Java_Bina... ) - lot's of "should works" in there?

(Not a problem question, it's running fine for me now in an R&D setting.)

The CDH version in the version number is just which CDH version we used for our long-run test suite. We rely on the component tests done to enforce CDH minor version compatibility for platform dependencies, e.g. HDFS.
