Can anyone help on creating alerts in nagios for apache hadoop and hbase

I have plain apache hadoop and hbase setup and i have hadoop and hbase metrics being forwarded to ganglia. I want to setup nagios alerts for hadoop and hbase.

I tried one blog post but did'nt got any success.

Can anyone point me to any good tutorial or post or can help how to achieve that ?

I refered the link http://blog.moserit.com/creating-custom-commands-services-and-service-groups-in-nagios and took check_hadoop_dfs.pl script but it did'nt went successful.
