Can rolling upgrades be done without Ambari?

Is "manual"rolling upgrade possible, ie with no Ambari? Also when will the Rolling upgrade doc be available on docs.hortonworks.com?

Yes its possible, however can take a long time.

No documentation for HDP 2.3 available so far
