I installed the HDP sandbox 2.5 successfully, but I can't access Ambari and the services aren't recognized by linux.
When I try to access the Ambari page, it says access was denied.
And any Hadoop command is not recognized as well.
I've tried everything and I do not know what else to do.
Few things about the Sandbox:
1. When you want to do SSH on the Sandbox container then you *Must* use SSH Port 2222 only to be ont he host where ambari/hdp binaries are installed.
# ssh firstname.lastname@example.org -p 2222 Enter Password: hadoop
(OR) use the Web Terminal on port 4200 :
2. Are you able to access ambari UI and sandbox Welcome page using 127.0.0.1 address?

Hi Jay, thanks for help.
This VM is on a VMWare ESXI Server, it’s not on my laptop, I’m accessing the sandbox from a remote machine.
I think 127.0.0.1 will not work.
Are you able to access the Sandbox using the IP address on SSH port 2222 ?
# ssh email@example.com -p 2222 Enter Password: hadoop # ambari-server status # ambari-server restart # netstat -tnlpa | grep 8080
I can access the sandbox through port 2222.
But, I can't start the Ambari services, it's like they didn't exist.
And note the the netstat command didn't return anything.
