My understanding of Canary files was that data is written to a file and once the test is completed, this file is removed automatically. I recently ran a Directory Usage report and I came across many of these files (/tmp/.cloudera_health_monitoring_canary_files/.canary_file_2018_12_11-23_46_17).
The size shows as zero KB, and the File and Directory Count =1 do these also gets stored in the Namenode Metadata?
Secondly, would these get auto deleted from hdfs? If not, would deleting them manually have any repercussions on Hadoop Cluster?
Are there any best practice / guide to effectively manage these files, Kindly advice.
