Cannot install CDH 5.8.1 on SLES12

CDH 5.8.1 claims support for SLES12. (http://www.cloudera.com/documentation/enterprise/release-notes/topics/cm_rn_fixed_issues.html#rn_OPS...)

But while installing on SLES12 i got the following error.

BEGIN zypper --gpg-auto-import-keys -n se -i --match-exact -t package jdk | grep -E '^i[[:space:]]*\|[[:space:]]*jdk'
Error building the cache:
[cloudera-manager|https://archive.cloudera.com/cm5/sles/12/x86_64/cm/5.8.1/] Valid metadata not found at specified URL
END (1)

While checking the archive locations i cannot find any entry for sles/12. For example

Available:

https://archive.cloudera.com/cm5/sles/11

http://archive-primary.cloudera.com/cdh5/one-click-install/sles/11/

Not Available:

https://archive.cloudera.com/cm5/sles/12/

http://archive-primary.cloudera.com/cdh5/one-click-install/sles/12/

This looks like a major miss in the support matrix.

This is planned for the next release 5.9 currently. This may be subject to change, though.

There are indeed no packages/parcels for SLES12 on archive.cloudera.com. I will clarify internally and let you know.

It turns out that 5.8 does not support SLES12 yet. The Supported Operating Systems section has the information right. The statement in the Release Notes section you pointed to here is incorrect, I've addressed this with our docs team.

Thanks for the clarification. Do you know any tentative dates/versions on when cloudera will start supporting SLES12.

This is imporant for us since we also use elasticsearch and they donot support RPM installation on SLES11 and we need to have a common OS matrix for our components.
