Cloudera Director: How to define data disks for Azure image containing secondary volume

Cloudera Director: How to define data disks for Azure image containing secondary volume

Expert Contributor

In AWS, we deploy Cloudera worker nodes using an AMI which contains a secondard volume for custom configuration purposes, and we are still able to define addition EBS volumes for HDFS role within the bootstrap file.  In Azure however, according to the following link this is not an option:

So, am I to interpret this as an all or nothing option?  If the Azure image being used contains 2 or more disks, no other disks can be defined from the bootstrap file?

Hi @dturner,

It is correct as you mentioned that when using Azure custom image with data disks already specified, you cannot specify additional data disks in the Director instance template.

Thanks,
