Cloudera Impala ODBC driver connection string?

Cloudera Impala ODBC driver connection string?

New Contributor

Hi, I am trying to form an ODBC connection string to my local VM machine... and am looking for examples of what a connection string would look like?

cnstr='Driver={HDT_IMPALA};DBCNAME=131.142.65.65;UID=cloudera;PWD=cloudera;ANSI=True'

131.142.65.65 = The IP address of my local VM
HDT_IMPALA = The name of the driver

I have the ODBC driver installed on my computer.... but I think the reasoson it doesn't work is because I don't have the name of the driver correct. What is the correct name of the driver??? Cloudera Impala? Impala? Cloudera.Impala.Driver?

Or should I use another connection string entirely? Thank you for your help!!!

Hi,

Is it possible for you to configure a DSN on your system and then use that DSN in your connection string?

As for the Impala ODBC driver name, please try "Cloudera ODBC Driver for Impala"

Hope that helps!

Cheers,

Is it possible to configure your impala instance to have credentials instead of just Username and Password being blank?
