Cloudera Installation 5.9 stuck in CDH activation stage


      Facing the error while installing the cloudera 5.9 in 4 node cluster.


      Operating System : CentOS 6.8 
      Environment          : VM's (Xen)


      Installtion is stuck in CDH activation stage.

     Following are the status of server:

     [root@vm33 ~]# service cloudera-scm-agent status
     cloudera-scm-agent (pid 29468) is running...
     [root@vm40 ~]# service cloudera-scm-server status
     cloudera-scm-server (pid 8118) is running...

     [root@vm33 ~]# cat /etc/hosts localhost.localdomain localhost vm33 vm34 vm39 vm40

     I have tried for solution in cloudera sites, but there is no luck. Please help me resolve this.

Sorry that you did not get a response in the desired amount of time.


The problem likely occurred due to permissions problems on the /opt/cloudera/parcels/.flood directory

You can check the agent logs to see if there are other exceptions regarding permission before the "NoneType" exception.


Make sure that the /opt/cloudera/parcels.flood directory has permissions like this:


drwxr-xr-x 2 cloudera-scm cloudera-scm 4096 Nov 9 14:13 .flood
