Cloudera Manager 5.2.1 install seems broken

Hi,

I'm trying to install 5.2.1 but something seems broken.

If I try path A, I get an error during the jdk install phase. Looking at the logs, in the refresh-repos log, I see the following:

So you can see the installer is pointing at the 5.3.0-nightly build, in some jenkens repository that I don't have access to. I thought it was supposed to be pointed at a repository called archive.

So then I follow the B path. I'm able to get the jdk installed, but the download of the server goes really slow. I did manage to get it to finish and get the web UI up, but it seems to have installed 5.3.0, because in the web UI that is the version of the parcels. I had some trouble installing parcels in 5.3.0, so I threw that out and am starting over, I'd really like to install 5.2.1 which was working fine for me last week.

Thanks,

Mike

Thank you for the report. I have reproduced the issue and logged a bug report internally. Meanwhile you have two workarounds
1. Use the Path B installer like you already have
2. Download the .bin installer from CM5.2.1 specifically from http://archive.cloudera.com/cm5/installer/5.2.1/cloudera-manager-installer.bin

The .bin installer is released with each version of Cloudera Manager but regardless it always installs the latest version. So even if you download the .bin from the 5.2.1 URL, it will install v5.3.0 (released just a few hours back). This is by design.

Hello GautamG,

I think we have a similar issue here with 6.2.

I have opened a question regarding that on the following link:

https://community.cloudera.com/t5/Cloudera-Manager-Installation/Failed-to-complete-installation-on-h...

would you please have a look on it?

Thanks,
