Cloudera Manager not able to detect service up

Expert Contributor

I tried to restart a kafka broker from command line rather then from Cloudera Manager. How can cloudera manager detect that i started the service ?

Cloudera mananger states as stopped.

I tried restarting the cloudera agent and still cloudera mananger does not detect it.

Do i need to change the state in the DB ?

Hi @desind

What the log show you when CM try to start this service?

Super Guru

@desind,

If you are using Cloudera Manager, it needs to be used to start your roles.

If the agent and supervisor did not start your process, CM, Agent, and supervisor will all not see the process you started.

Try stopping the broker and then start it via CM and CM should now detect its status.
