Cloudera Manager problem

New Contributor

I started Cloudera Quickstart image in Docker (it started successfully, with all the services Impala, HBase, Hadoop, Hive, Scoop, etc.):

docker run --hostname=quickstart.cloudera --privileged=true -t -i -p 8888:8888 -p 80:80 -p 7180:7180 cloudera/quickstart /usr/bin/docker-quickstart

Then, I started Cloudera Manager:

docker exec -ti <QUICKSTART_MACHINE_NAME> /home/cloudera/cloudera-manager --express

And then, when I open the manager in the browser, it lists all my services with Stopped statuses.

Also, Im not able to start them from the UI: different kinds of errors pop up.

How is this possible, and what should I check? Thanks.

By desktop virtualization standards, Cloudera Manager requires a lot of
memory. So when you migrate to CM it won't start all your services (also,
it won't respect any changes you may have made to configuration in the
other services - they're entirely separate service managerment systems), so
it's expected that they're all stopped.

What kinds of errors are you getting when you're trying to start them?
