Cloudera director bootstrap fail on installing cloudera manager

Cloudera director bootstrap fail on installing cloudera manager

New Contributor

Hi. I'm trying to install CDH on AWS using Cloudera Director. I've installed Director and created the Environment succesfully, but when deploying Cloudera Manager I get a 'Bootstrap failed' error on step 19/39. On the Deployments tab on Director I see the following info:

Status: Bootstrap failed (Parallel Execution of jobs failed. Total:1 Cancelled:1 Failed:0

Diagnostic Log Status: Not Collected

The AMI I'm using is ami-b63769a1 (RHEL-7.3_HVM_GA-20161026-x86_64-1-Hourly2-GP2) and I can't find any logs to get more info.

Any advices, please?

In the Director instance, try tailing the /var/log/cloudera-director-server/application.log.

The last entries would point where the bootstrap is failing, whether yohe the cluster is created from Director GUI or conf file. Hopefully, this will allow you to troubleshoot the deployment execution issue.

Edmond's advice is spot on. You can also reply here with the relevant application.log contents and we can help interpret as well.
