Cloudera scm server giving java.lang.RuntimeException: Upgrade not allowed from CM3.x.

Explorer

Trying  to set up a cluster using Installation Path B using MariaDb Galera cluster as external database.

Even after following alll the mentioned steps in the official installation document, the scm server seems to be not working.

The following command executes without error

service cloudera-scm-server start

But the CM is not accessible on browser. Tailing cloudera-scm-server.log states the following:

	at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.AbstractBeanFactory.getBean(AbstractBeanFactory.java:192)
	at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.BeanDefinitionValueResolver.resolveReference(BeanDefinitionValueResolver.java:322)
	... 17 more
Caused by: java.lang.RuntimeException: Upgrade not allowed from CM3.x.
	at com.cloudera.server.cmf.bootstrap.EntityManagerFactoryBean.CM3Fail(EntityManagerFactoryBean.java:327)
	at com.cloudera.server.cmf.bootstrap.EntityManagerFactoryBean.checkVersionDoFail(EntityManagerFactoryBean.java:274)
