Cloudmanager is not able to start

Hi All,

I have installed cloudera manager on machine with just one node and when the installation was done i was able to open the CM "http://servername:7180/" but when i logged out and trying to open it again, i am not able to. I have checked the cloudera-scm-agent.log, it shows:-

error: (111, 'Connection refused')
[30/Sep/2015 13:30:25 +0000] 7539 MainThread agent        ERROR    Heartbeating to servername:7182 failed.

  File "/usr/lib64/python2.4/httplib.py", line 636, in connect
    raise socket.error, msg
error: (111, 'Connection refused')

i have even restarted the cloudera-scm-agent.

Do i need to unistall it and install a fresh copy of cloudera manager?

Thanks!

Do you have selinux enabled? What about the firewall (iptables)?

Re: Cloudmanager is not able to start

Explorer

Hello,

selinux is disabled and firewall is stopped..

[root@vc2coma1052292n selinux]# cat config
# This file controls the state of SELinux on the system.
# SELINUX= can take one of these three values:
#       enforcing - SELinux security policy is enforced.
#       permissive - SELinux prints warnings instead of enforcing.
#       disabled - SELinux is fully disabled.
SELINUX=disabled
# SELINUXTYPE= type of policy in use. Possible values are:
#       targeted - Only targeted network daemons are protected.
#       strict - Full SELinux protection.
SELINUXTYPE=targeted

============

# service iptables status
Firewall is stopped.

i have made this changes before installing CM.

Master Guru
Is the 'service cloudera-scm-server status' reporting alive? If not, can you check the /var/log/cloudera-scm-server/cloudera-scm-server.log to see what it failed with?

Re: Cloudmanager is not able to start

Explorer

Hello,

# service cloudera-scm-server status
cloudera-scm-server dead but pid file exists

under /var/log/cloudera-scm-server/cloudera-scm-server.log i could see the below messages :-

even I am getting the similar error message (trying to setup CM on a VM (centos6) with 8GM ram and where host machine has 16 GM ram) . Cloudera manager start successfully how ever it takes a very long time and onse the jetty server is started and I am logged into CM console .. it just shows loading for long time .. and even seems like host monitor, service manager services are not comming up)

found multiple entries of following error message in cloudera-scm-server log.

JvmPauseMonitor:com.cloudera.enterprise.debug.JvmPauseMonitor: Detected pause in JVM or host machine (e.g. a stop the world GC, or JVM not scheduled): paused approximately 8253ms: GC pool 'Copy' had collection(s):
