Connecting to MySQL database hosted on a different server

Expert Contributor

So far I have used MySQL SERVER Hosted on the same machine as that of Ambari/cluster.

Now, I need to connect to MySQL hosted on a different server to which I have access details to.

My question is

1. do I need to have an ambari-agent installed and running on it?

2. Do I need to register this server as one of the hosts?

3. Do I need to have FQDN for this server or IP will do?

4. Do I need to make any confiurations any where else apart from amabri-server setup database configuration part?
