Connection problem with Kerberized cluster while using SSL with java 8

New Contributor

I have a kerberized HDP cluster that uses AD as its KDC. Kerberos process succeed without any issues. I am able to connect to AD via non-SSL and using Java 7.

But when i use Java 8 and try to connect via SSL to AD, get below error

javax.naming.CommunicationException: simple bind failed: ad-ldap.XXXXX.com:636 [Root exception is javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Unsupported record version Unknown-0.0]

at com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapClient.authenticate(LdapClient.java:219)

Any reason why java 7 works fine but not Java 8?

@Chakra

Not sure if you saw this https://developer.ibm.com/answers/questions/164608...

different SSL protocols to communicate with each

SSL version mismatch between 7 and 8
