Database/tables created under hive cli,not accessible using beeline (via jdbc)

New Contributor

I created a database and a table under hive-cli (2.3.4) on a hdfs cluster (2.7.1). When I login in through beeline using the knox gateway, and I do a SHOW TABLES or most other commands, I get a message that the user does not have [USE] privileges.

When I attempted to GRANT ALL to the created database in hive-cli, it looks like I do not have GRANT privileges.

I am able to carry out most other operations via hive-cli.

The question is therefore, how do I make objects created using hive-cli accessible via beeline(jdbc)?
