Deploy Cloudera manager as monitoring tools for existing CDH cluster

Deploy Cloudera manager as monitoring tools for existing CDH cluster

New Contributor

Is it  possible delpoy Cloudera Manager as just monitoring and reporting tool to existing configured, and running CDH components?. My cluster to runs CDH distribution, version 2.5.0-cdh5.3.3 Hadoop, hbase, hive, oozie, along configured and deployed using puppet.

I have seen similar post

http://community.cloudera.com/t5/Cloudera-Manager-Installation/How-to-install-CM-over-an-existing-CD... "

So, not prefered to go for deployment and configuration with Cloudera Manager, just monitoring and reporting is fine

Thanks,

CM need to know where all the services are and it does this through the configuration. I know of know what to just have it being the monitoring tool

I'd look at alternatives like Pepperdata or ScalingData/Rocana.
