Determining number of query and user stats for impala?

Determining number of query and user stats for impala?

Explorer

Hi Folks,

I need some stats on how my impala is being used, and trying to get my hands on statistics database for impala.

Presently, I am interested in the following metrics:

1. current number of impala users

2. current number of impala users broken down by each database

2. global total number of queries executed in impala yesterday

3. total number of queries executed by each database yesterday

I am also exploring CM Metrics [1]. They seem inclined towards "Alerting".

Hi,

In addition to the impalad metrics you can also have a look at the
Chartbuilder in Cloudera Manager (for example try "select
total_num_queries_rate_across_impalads") and the lineage log, which tracks
the query, user, start/end time, (stored under /var/log/impalad/lineage).

With regards to the number of current users you could look at the metric
for current connections ("thrift_server_beeswax_
frontend_connections_in_use"), however one user can open multiple
connections.

Best wishes, Lars
