Yes, Ambari support Hue 2.6.0 but Hortonworks is working to replace Hue (that is a Cloudera component) with Ambari Views.

https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/Ambari-2.4.2.0/bk_ambari-views/content/ch_using_ambari_vie...

http://hortonworks.com/apache/ambari/#section_4

If you want to use Hue, you can use the old version 2.6.0 supported by Hortonworks or install manually the last version of the Cloudera Hue using the following guide http://gethue.com/hadoop-hue-3-on-hdp-installation-tutorial/. The guide is for install Hue 3.9 but I think you can follow it to install the version 3.12.

Yes! We still support Hue. Aside from the Release Notes, here are some other pointers in Hortonworks documentation that you might find useful:

Please let me know if you have any questions, re: the documentation and if we can help in any other way.

I have concerns about hundreds... YES hundreds of users using Ambari Views. Currently our Admins and Infrastructure teams (about 20) have access to Ambari in both Admin privilege and View only access. What are the deployment implications for opening up the door to users currently using HUE to use Ambari Views?

Sorry this was not an answer, just expressing concerns as to the workload Ambari can handle. This is the primary tool for our Admins and Support Staff, if opening up to end-users, I have concerns about the workload and demands on Ambari that users will introduce.

I agree with your concerns, on top of that HUE is a better UI (especially when using workflows). The Ambari views contain quite a few bugs/lacking simple features.

Hi All,

I'm rather new to HDP and HUE and was interested in setting HUE up for the search functionality it provides for HDFS with SOLR. With the deprecation of HUE in HDP 3.0 what are the alternative to provide the search functionality? I was researching on Ambari Views but it does not seem to be able to do that.

Hope to find out what other application can we look at for such functionality and if we can still install and setup HUE when its deprecated in HDP3.0

Thanks
