Don't see Nifi listed in Add Service options in Ambari

Hello

We did an install of Hortonworks Ambari using the official guide with default settings and surprisingly, it does not list the option to Add Service -> Nifi.

We have that ability in Hortonworks VM with Ambari but not with our actual local install.

How would we go about adding Nifi to the potential services to be installed via Ambari in our local cluster?

Thanks

Did you follow the HDF install guide which includes installing the HDF mpack? http://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDF2/HDF-2.1.1/bk_dataflow-ambari-installation/content/inde...

NiFi will not show up as a service under the default HDP mpack.

Thanks,

Matt

Yeah we installed the default HDP mpack... I guess now we have to wipe all of the HDP stuff and reinstall with HDF...

HDP and HDF are two different services. We have to follow different installation procedures for both.

HDP installation : http://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDP2/HDP-2.3.4/bk_installing_manually_book/content/ch_getti... --> Runs on 8080 port with Ambari

HDF installtion: https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDF1/HDF-1.1.1/bk_HDF_GettingStarted/content/downloading-a... --> Runs on port 9090

Thanks I gathered that. So it requires two clusters to have both HDP and HDF. Unfortunate.

Im still struggling to understand why Kafka and Storm is on both and not Nifi...
