EDH on AWS : Hive Editor needs HiveServer2 - Error creating table sample_07

New Contributor

I deployed a Cloudera EDH cluster on AWS using Quickstart and the cloudera-director executable. I took the aws.reference.conf file that comes with the Cloudera launcher. Everything works fine during the deployment, but I am having problems with HUE/Hive editor. When I go to the HUE UI I see the screen below :

Hue_needHiveServer2.png

And when I try to open the Hive Editor I get :

hue_error_creatingtable.png

Can someone help?

I checked the log files on the node running hive and in /var/log/hive/hadoop-cmf-CD-HIVE-zzISkbiD-HIVEMETASTORE-ip-10-0-1-145.eu-central-1.compute.internal.log.out

I get this ERROR message

ERROR org.apache.hadoop.hdfs.KeyProviderCache: [pool-6-thread-2]: Could not find uri with key [dfs.encryption.key.provider.uri] to create a keyProvider !!

and in the Hue log file I get :

Hello,

It seemd to me that you don't have the good value in :dfs.encryption.key.provider.uri. Do you have encryption enabled for HDFS?

However, this seems to me like linked to the known error for all CDH5 releases since CDH 5.4.1:
https://community.cloudera.com/t5/Storage-Random-Access-HDFS/Could-not-find-uri-with-key-dfs-encrypt...
