ERROR: Can't get master address from ZooKeeper; znode data == null

Hi,

 

I am unable to create/list the table in hbase.I am able to get the hbase shell but failed to create table and any operations.I have tried all the methods suggested in this community but not cleared my problem.

 

please suggest me how can i solve this issue.

Hi SudheerKota,

This error indicates that the node that you are running cannot find the HMaster znode from zookeeper.

 

This can be for a large variety of reasons, here are the likely suspects that I can immediately think of:

Your HBase cluster isn't actually up. you can easily verify this by checking the hmaster UI (port 60020 on you master nodes)

 

The node you are running from isn't a "gateway" in CM for that cluster. or if you are not running CM, the node hasn't had hbase-site.xml configured appropriately or is pointing to the wrong zookeeper quorum.
