I am at the following step: http://localhost:8080/#/installer/step2
@Deepak Goel did you set permissions on the ssh keys correctly? I'd recommend setting up agents manually rather than using passwordless SSH. That said here's documentation for doing it correctly https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/Ambari-22.214.171.124/bk_Installing_HDP_AMB/content/_set_up_passw...
and here's manual registration step doc http://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/Ambari-126.96.36.199/bk_ambari_reference_guide/content/_install_t...
While installing manually, it is giving me the following error: Registering with the server... Registration with the server failed.
I have started the ambari agent manually on the host (I am trying to install Ambari and HDP on a single Ubuntu computer)
Have you added these host to the list of known host for username used by ambari?
Log in with the username used by ambari and connect via ssh with that certificate to the failing nodes.
A message as the following one should appear:
The authenticity of host 'test.int (10.0.0.1)' can't be established. RSA key fingerprint is xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:x:xx:xx:xx. Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)?
Answer yes, try this with all nodes that fails.
Have you copied the right key on the ambari web. Need to copy this key on id_rsa.
Steps to setup cluster:-
There are some pre-requisites required for hadoop that we need to take care of before we set up the cluster. We will do them one by one now.
1) Setup password-less ssh on node.
2) Update /etc/hosts file and also install ntp.
3) Update it on each node to contain entries for all hosts in the cluster.
4) install Java
5) disable seliux and iptable
6)Download amabari repo
wget -nv http://public-repo-1.hortonworks.com/ambari/centos6/2.x/updates/2.1.0/ambari.repo -O /etc/yum.repos.d/ambari.repo
7) install amabari
yum install ambari-server
8) run command to setup amabari
ambari-server setup and press enter for all question
9) Now start the ambari server
10) Once service is started successfully then check UI at <ambari IP>:8080
11) You will see UI. Default login credentials are admin:admin (username:password)

Hello I tried doing the above. It is still giving the same error. Is it because I have Ubuntu 15 and in the docs it is specified you need Ubuntu 14? Thanks Deepak
