I have a HP 2000 notebook PC laptop with x64-based processor. While trying to install hortonworks hdp 2.4 i get the message "this kernel requires an x86-64 cpu but only detected an i686 CPU hortonworks sandbox" Is this due to the fact that it will not install on x64-processor?

When you click on OVA to import, you will see Guest OS Type? What do you see there and has this been changed. You should see Red Hat (64-bit) there. By default you don't change this and if you change this, import is not going to work.

Yes, that was the issue. I re-imported OVA, this time with Red Hat (64-bit) and that resolved the error. Thank you
