For some reason 40gb it's not enough for the vmware virtual machine downloaded from the website.
I've been doing some research on how to expand this to 150gb.
Here is the step by step on how to do it:
I've got to a point where you need to extend the volume group but there are no volume groups on this vm.
Has anyone run into this issue?
I have the virtual machine not available, but with Linux you can have direct mounts without the lvm. Dependent on the setup it might be enough to just extend the filesystem. Or you might need to first extend a partition.
Check this how to article from RedHat: https://access.redhat.com/articles/1196353
Hi @Harald Berghoff:)
But to extend i need to know the group volume name and i don't know it because the vgdisplay command doesn't show anything. It just go back to prompt.
I also don't know how the hortonworks vm was build :(
you will be able to get the volume or device names by checking the file /etc/fstab
You will have lines like
/dev/volume_group/nameoflogicalvolume /opt/MountPoint ext4 defaults 0 0 /dev/devname /opt/MountPoint1 ext4 defaults 0 0
So the first column gives you the name of the device or volume.
