Facing a problem with article of getting started with hawq

As guided by the link- http://hortonworks.com/hadoop-tutorial/getting-started-with-pivotal-hawq-on-hortonworks-sandbox/ , I downloaded the VM, got it running, switched user to gpadmin. When I give command for gpstart, gpstop, gpstate- the shell complains "Command Not Found". I have also checked as a root user that gpstart file doesn't exist under root directory. How do I solve this problem?

Any help is appreciated.

Try hawq start cluster. Or bring up Ambari and start it there.

Please follow the below steps

su - gpadmin

source /usr/local/hawq/greenplum_path.sh

hawq start cluster (To start cluster )

hawq stop cluster (To stop cluster)

Also Please have a look into the below documentation to know better about the hawq utilities
