Failed to add a cluster to a host

Failed to add a cluster to a host

New Contributor

Hello,

I installed cloudera manager successfully, but when I access http://localhost:7180to set a cluster in a host, I ran into the error:

Installation failed. Failed to authenticate. Exhausted available authentication methods.

And I also looked into the cloudera-manager-server.log, it shows the following error:

2014-06-17 09:57:13,257  INFO [ParcelUpdateService:components.LocalParcelManagerImpl@97] Found files  under /opt/cloudera/parcel-repo
2014-06-17 09:57:15,781 ERROR [main:cloud.EC2MetadataFetcher@74] Request to EC2 metadata failed: I/O error: The host did not accept the connection within timeout of 2000 ms;
2014-06-17 09:57:15,964  INFO [main:service.ServiceHandlerRegistry@654] Executing command ProcessStalenessCheckCommand BasicCmdArgs{args=[]}.
2014-06-17 09:57:16,392  INFO [main:components.PythonInterpreterFactory@38] Constructing Python interpreter
2014-06-17 09:57:19,917  INFO [main:components.PythonInterpreterFactory@45] Finished constructing Python interpreter

Has anyone ever had this kind of problem while setting a cluster?  If you have any idea about this kind of error, it would be very helpful.

Thank you

Best,

Cui

do you use the root account to log in? I solved this problem with resetting a root account by "sudo passwd"

Hi! cuicui

I do not have to act to resolve the problem.

And, I alway use the root account to log in.

I guess ,This error message means  'It does not connection to Amazon EC2'.

Possibly, I think in a bad condition is amazonEC2Server ...

Thanks regards,

Finally I solved this problem. You have to reset the root password using "sudo passwd" and then log in with this root account. Hope this will help others to solve the similar problem.
