Failed to install with cloudera-m​anager-ins​taller.bin on Ubuntu x64 14.04 LTS

I followed the steps in Download and Run the Cloudera Manager Server Installer

Downloaded cloudera-manager-installer.bin via the proxy (I masked the proxy with xxx) successfully:

Running cloudera-manager-installer.bin and failed downloading JAVA:

apt-get is able to access the internet via the proxy too:

I am likely late, but did you try setting the http_proxy environment variable?  You could do it like:

 

export http_proxy=http://SOCKS_PROXY_SERVER:SOCKS_PROXY_PORT

 

 

Also, you may want to set the _JAVA_OPTIONS variable with the proxy information -- that way if the installer is invoking a jvm, it will use the proxy.

 

export _JAVA_OPTIONS='-Dsocks.proxyHost=SOCKS_PROXY_IP -Dsocks.proxyPort=SOCKS_PROXY_PORT'
