Hi,

 

     I have oozie job which executes the shell and shell command deletes the particular partition in the table. while deleting the partition I am getting below error message.

 

FAILED: Execution Error, return code 1 from org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.exec.DDLTask. Got exception: java.io.IOException Failed to move to trash: xxxxxxx_hadoop_file

is you table is in encrypted zone ? 

check for the user permission  / ownership on the oozie / hdfs level ? 

do you have any sentry enabled ?

No

No.

 

We are loading the data from oracle to hive daily by scheduling the batch process (table is partitioned by date)

 

and next day we are checking the oracle and hive count. if there is mismatch then we delete the hive data and reload it from oracle.

Are these Hive2 actions utilizing HiveServer2 and JDBC?

 

There perhaps will be a more detailed error message in the HiveServer2 role log.
