Getting different no of records for same timerange using scan timerange in hbase

Getting different no of records for same timerange using scan timerange in hbase

Explorer

Hi,

I have been using CDH 5.7.4 in our production environment. I am facing a very strange issue in Hbase during the scan with timerange parameter. The problem is that when I am using scan 'table-name',{TIMERANGE=>[timestamp1,timestamp2]} to query the number of records between specified timerange, I am getting different results for same timerange on same data.

For example, to get the total number of records in table 't1' for timerange 1467331200000 to 1467417600000, i am using the below command on hbase shell:

hbase(main):001:0> scan 't1',{TIMERANGE=>[1467331200000,1467417600000]}

I executed the same query 5 times and below is the result:

97338
64838
0
32500
64838

I should get same result every time but the result is different.

Please suggest what is the possible reason for this behaviour of scan with timerange in hbase.

Thanks in advance.
