What version of Hive ODBC driver you are using?
Are you using the In-built Hortonworks Hive Hadoop driver or DSN driver installed.
Default In-built Hortonworks Hive Hadoop driver in Microsoft will not work. You have to use Other ODBC sources -> Hive DSN driver.
