@Mahesh Mallikarjunappa

please take a look at this document https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDP2/HDP-2.4.3/bk_hbase_snapshots_guide/content/ch_hbase_s... Although I would consider upgrading your version of HBase as 0.96 is no longer supported by Hortonworks or the community. In HDP 2.5, we added incremental backup and restore, which allows for more ellaborate backup strategies if that's what you're looking at. http://hortonworks.com/blog/coming-hdp-2-5-incremental-backup-restore-apache-hbase-apache-phoenix/

@Mahesh Mallikarjunappa @Artem Ervits More detailed documentation about incremental backup-and-restore in HDP 2.5 can be found here: Backing Up and Restoring Apache HBase Datasets. Note that this recent feature is currently in Technical Preview, so it's still considered under development.
