HBase 1.2 CDH 5.7.0 not doing compaction

Hi, 

I just upgraded to CDH 5.7, and I noticed that HBase not doing any minor compaction on the table. Even though I manually ask HBase to compact, it didnt do it.

Is there any major changes on how compaction works from HBase 1.0.0 to 1.2.0 ?
