HDF3.0 sandbox

Hi everyone.

I'm trying to use the sandBox VirtualBox to import data from mysql into hdfs with sqoop, but i don't know the password of the root user, when I execute the command 'mysql -uroot' I get ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO).

Are you really connecting to the MySQL db provided as part of Sandbox ? Or is it some other mysql?
Can you try specifying the Hostname as well in the mysql command to see how it goes?

Something like this

# mysql -u root -h sandbox.hortonworks.com
