HDFS space filling up due to CM logs/timeseries data

HDFS space filling up due to CM logs/timeseries data

New Contributor

Hi all,

The space on my (little, 4 node) cluster is fillin up quickly due to the timeseries data CM generates. Currently I have 40Gb of data, config is set to max 10Gb per node(can't seem to put in lower value).

The data is in folder /hdfs_data/varliblink/cloudera-service-monitor/ts.

However the config says /var/lib/cloudera-service-monito. WHat is the difference?

Is it possible to delete some of this historical data?  What is a safe way to delete this?

Thanks,

Thomas

@tcornet there are separate log retention settings for the various services managed by CM.  What you can do is go to the service monitor, activity monitor, and each service and look at the retention period set for each service.  Reducing that should help with disk space.
