HDP 2.5: Ambari Hive View throws "Operation category READ is not supported in state standby" after enable Namenode HA

We have enabled Namenode HA using Ambari. We have NN1 and NN2 working fine.

Scenario 1: Working fine

NN1 is in Active.

NN2 is Standby.

Hive view working fine.

Scenario 1 : Operation category READ is not supported in state standby error

NN1 is in Standby .

NN2 is Active.

Note: Pig and Spark are working fine. When I use hive CLI in NN2 the queries are executing without any issue.

When we use Hive view it throws error,

Have you updated Hive View configurations to reflect "webhdfs://${dfs.nameservices}"

May be you can try changing the "WebHDFS FileSystem URI" property in the Hive View configurations.

Make sure you have the hive view pointed (in "WebHDFS FileSystem URI") to either the Active NN or, if NN HA is enabled, use dfs.nameservices.

@Uvaraj Seerangan make sure Hive table you have created is not pointing to only NN1 instead of HA service. also check the Hive metastore TBLS table and look for any inconsistencies in table locations i.e. all the tables should be pointing to hdfs://<nameservice:8020>

After restarted the Ambari server, now Hive view working without any issue,

ambari-server stop

ambari-server start

When you have namenode HA configured you must set properties for first namenode and second namenode. Please refer below doc for proper settings to use with namenode HA.
