I have one table Ratings with about 100k rows.

If I use this query on Hive Query of My HDP 2.5 HortonWorks. Hive is using TEZ.

Select movied_id from ratings; - Works fine

If I use this query:

Select Movie_id, Count(*) as r

from ratings

group by movie_id - FAIL!

Message Error:

Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: Error while processing statement: FAILED: Execution Error, return code 1 from org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.exec.tez.TezTask

My VM has 16GB.

Any suggestion?
