HDP 2.5 support for Windows?

Hello,

can anybody tell me if windows is supported in HDP 2.5? Version 2.4.2 is supported and for version 2.5.0 there is no download and information available (yet) at http://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDP2/HDP-2.4.0-Win/index.html

HDP support on Windows is deprecated. We strongly suggest running HDP only on supported Linux platforms.

Does an official information exist for that? If yes, what's the reason for that? Hortonworks has a big cooperation with Microsoft regarding Azure and so on.

HDInsight is Hortonworks HDP with Microsoft on LINUX.

We thought about an installation of a big cluster with hdp for windows, is there a definitive statement from hortonworks that windows will not be supported in the future?

HDP 2.4 is the last windows edition.
