HDP Docker Windows Startup error

New Contributor

I downloaded and am attempting to run the tutorial version of HDP 2.6.4 for docker as referenced here:

https://hortonworks.com/tutorial/sandbox-deployment-and-install-guide/section/3/

However, I get this error:

PS C:\> powershell -ExecutionPolicy ByPass -File start-sandbox-hdp-standalone_2-6-4.ps1

Checking docker daemon...
Docker is up and running
Running HDP Sandbox for the first time...
2.6.4: Pulling from hortonworks/sandbox-hdp-standalone
cannot download image with operating system "linux" when requesting "windows"
C:\Program Files\Docker\Docker\Resources\bin\docker.exe: Error response from daemon: Windows does not support privileged mode.
See 'C:\Program Files\Docker\Docker\Resources\bin\docker.exe run --help'.
Error: No such container: sandbox-hdp

Thanks.

The root of the problem lies in the type of container that is running. This can be resolved by right-clicking on "Docker" and selecting "Switch to Linux Containers" in order to switch from Windows to Linux.
